The current facilities on Mission Bay at El Carmel Place were built
in 1991 with a bequest from rower A. Wharton Coggeshall. SDRC uses
three bays in the current building with the University of San Diego
(USD) and the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) using two
other separate bays. The current boathouse houses club boats (a
collection of eights, fours, quads, doubles and singles), private
boats. There is also a work area for repairing equipment, as well as
an area for working out with weights and ergs as well as men's and
women's locker rooms and showers.
In the near future, the club plans to
add to the current boathouse to provide more rooms for boats and
oars, as well as additional office and locker room space. We are
moving up as well as out. There will be a meeting room and a great
room with picture windows and a deck providing a expansive view of
Mission Bay. The great room will provide beautiful facilities for
hosting functions, weddings and banquets. The boathouse
expansion is

the boathouse and is overseeing the initial phases of getting the
permits needed to proceed with building.
Private storage for rowing shells
is available to dues-paying members. Boat storage fees are $20
per month for a single. For more information, contact Hunter
