San Diego Rowing Club is a great place to learn how to row. Beginning adult classes are offered weekend mornings by an experienced coach who takes a calm and patient approach to teaching. For individuals, the Club offers sculling classes (that’s rowing with an oar in each hand as opposed to sweep rowing, which involves just one oar for each rower.) The classes use modern and well-maintained club equipment. All you have to bring is a willingness to get your feet wet (we launch the boats off the sandy beach) and learn something new.

Beginning Adult Sculling Classes at SDRC

13 Hours, 6 classes. Fee $200, Weekend classes

Our proven course introduces you to sculling technique, terminology and water safety using recreational single sculls. Our intentionally small class size ensures individual attention and rapid progression for each registrant. Students successfully completing this course are qualified and encouraged to join the San Diego Rowing Club.

Class minimum: 3 (maximum 5) Teens to adults.

Times: 8:00-10:00am (first class goes as late as 11:00 am)
